Daily Keemo. 7.20. That Is Where It Will End

That Is Where It Will End

It's late and
the desklamp is lighting up
this corner of the hotel room and
I can only see the cars that are heading East
on the Detroit highway
that is visible
from my window.

It is obvious that the black is
still wet and behind me one
of the girls shifts in the bed and
I know that their dreaming is more
important that the sound of these keys
so
that is where it will end.

Somewhere between two girls and a
highway and the late night sound of
this keyboard.

Daily Keemo. 3.21. What Will You Have?

What Will You Have?

It doesn't really matter how or why I was there but I was. I was sitting in the lobby at the J.W. Marriot downtown and waiting. I suppose that is all you really do in a lobby anyway, is wait, isn't it? I sat in one of the modern, simple, black leather chairs under the large glass windows overlooking the river and the sun coming through the large plates of glass felt like I was somewhere else and then my phone rang in my pocket and reminded me that I wasn't somewhere else. I was there, in the lobby. I decided to get up and walk around and check out the artwork and daydream and explore and I went up the stairs and into a large group of people milling around waiting for a seminar to begin and I milled about too and I couldn't help but notice a lot of milling around an open bar, so like any upstanding good citizen, I got in line and within a couple of minutes was sipping a nice cold Heinekin, by the railing, over looking the first floor and I could even still see the river from there.

There are moments in life that everything is effortless and there should be a music soundtrack going on behind you.

I drank my beer before it had a chance to get warm and I put it on a table near the bar and I walked back downstairs and found my same chair under the same window looking out at the same river.

... Enjoy!

Daily Keemo. 8.19. My Crazy Water Has Vodka In It

When I found this post card from 1930's I had no idea that is was a real place. So, I did a little reseach and here is what I found:The majestic Crazy Hotel built in 1927 is the site of the third well dug in Mineral Wells in 1881, which coined the phrase Crazy Water. When the well was completed, many people came to drink from it. Among the crowd was a woman who suffered from some type of mental disorder. The local children called her the "Crazy Lady". The legend says that after the woman drank the water for a period of time, she was cured. Thus the name Crazy Water and the Crazy Well. The Crazy Well grew into the Crazy Water Pavilion and in 1927, Carr Collins build the Crazy Hotel at a cost of $1,000,000. The Crazy Hotel contains over 200 guest rooms, a spacious lobby and incorporates the Crazy Water Pavilion. The top floor of the Hotel has a glass enclosed ballroom which opens onto a rooftop garden. What more can you say? You can't make up a better story than that... Enjoy!
