This painting has undergone three complete transformations. Under this painting is another painting and under that painting is another painting and if you look closely (it is hard to see in the scan) you can see hints of the underpainting showing through. I suppose the same thing could be said about each one of us, although, I would guess there are many more layers and I suppose each one of those layers still show though at different times. That is just my guess but I'm not an expert. I'm just a painter. Either way, there is a message in all of this and tonight it just seems sufficient to let it be what it is and for all of us to find our own reflection in it... Enjoy!

I probably should stay away from the keys tonight. The doctor gave me some vicodin to deal with the pain in my left side, just below the ribs but above the hip and the bruise there is the size of a paperback and things are spinning and slanted just a bit and I suppose that painting is easier in this state of mind and the words fall like butter off my eyelids onto the screen. So, I am going to stop there and just leave this painting as it is... with four hearts. ...Enjoy!

I wrote the small story to go along with this painting and decided that it wasnt the right time or place to post that particularly story. (particularly since I decided to post this painting on ebay) It didn't seem like the right forum. I think I'm going to file the original story away for the book of short stories or for some other platform. Anyway, that leaves this one open to do as you wish with. 5 people with 5 hearts and 5 reasons to be standing together... Enjoy!
