Daily Keemo 12.12 - David Lynch

Accidental Portrait Of David Lynch On Paper From 1870

Click

Hello, my name is Keemo and I have an addiction. I am a Lyncho-o-holic. Yes, it is true. I am addicted to all things David Lynch. From Special Agent Cooper to Inland Empire, I can't get enough. I am not going to attempt to explain the reasons why because I think his work says it best. (Maybe it is simply because he is one of the few people I have heard use the word "golly" like he actually meant it.) Anyway, I'm not going to go on and on about this one and just let it speak for itself.... Enjoy!

The Bible Has Trouble Proving Something

Click

This is the 13th in the "Book of Facts" series. I was going through a bunch of books that were stored away in boxes. I ran across this old book of facts. It is just page after page of wierd facts. After about 2 pages, I thought, "this is perfect!" On the others in this series, I would highlight two or three facts on the page but for this one, there seemed to be just one fact that was worth pointing out. Fact: "It cannot be proved by the bible that Jesus Christ ever smiled." I'm not sure what to make of it... but you know that is what makes this fact a good one. So, with that...Enjoy!

What Saying Of Our Saviour Does This Picture Illustrate? 1870.

Click

I don't ever say this about my work (especially out loud) but I am going to say it now. I like this painting. Don't get me wrong. I'm not bragging or self inflating my ego or saying that this is a phenominal piece of artwork that is going to go down in the art history books next to the all time greats. Nothing like that. I'm simply saying that somewhere in this picture is something that speaks directly to me. Actually, isn't that what we all look for in artwork? We might even say that it is technically the job of artwork. I think it is the lines or maybe the fact that the paper is 138 years old or the fact that the content is completely religious and there is irony somewhere in here or that the 138 year old message is the same exact message that is preached now and is probably the same message that was from the beginning and somewhere from then to now a whole other world has opened up and ideas and lines and color and people all continue to move forward while if you look right below the neck, underneath it all, is the same old question... What Saying Of Our Saviour Does This Picture Illustrate? I guess that is my answer. With that... Enjoy!

Down In The Valley

Click

I wish I could write words as good as these:

Down in the valley, valley so low

Hang your head over

And hear the wind blow

Can't you hear the wind blow, my love

Can't you hear the wind blow

Down in the valley, valley so low

Have you ever been lonely, lonely

Have you ever been sad

Did you ever really, really want some one

And really need them bad

Bad, bad, bad, bad

It was down in the valley

The valley so low

It was where I held you so tight

How could I ever let you go

I remember the first kiss

Oh, how it filled me so

Now all that I can feel right now

Is that cold wind blow

... Enjoy!

Acknowledgment #1
or The One Page That Is Always Overlooked.

Click

There is one page in every book that is usually always overlooked and definitely always under appreciated. It is one of the most personal pages in an entire book. It is the "acknowledgments page". This is the page where the author usually puts a note acknowledging someone or something that made the book possible. I have always found this page interesting. It says so much usually without many words. (I like to think of many of these stories as serving the same purpose) Well, with that in mind, I decided to start a new series that is going to be the "acknowledgment page series". These are actual acknowledgment pages from actual books. Hopefully, at the very least, this reminds us to all to be thankful for everyone who supports us, puts up with us and helps us get along...Enjoy!
